So I just joined up, but I have already started working on my car quite a bit. Over the winter I will be redoing the interior, front suspension, weather stripping all around, and many other small projects to get it ready for spring. This is my first attempt at doing most the work being done, so hopefully I can get some help when needed, and I'm sure y'all will get a good laugh or two at my expense.

Can you post some pics? Is it a 2 door? What motor?

Hopefully your plans include raising it and putting it on 24s

Spent a week or so assessing what needs to be done to the car to get it ready for spring, and I've gotten a decent start. Interior has been gutted, everything but the dash basically. Ran wiring for the rear speakers and amplifier. The rear deck was cut out when I bought it so I mocked up a new one with a pair of 6×9s to see how it looks. Will have to weld in a new deck eventually. I will also be replacing weather stripping all the way around, doing some front suspension work, and updating the wheels/tires. Installed voltmeter, oil pressure and temperature gauges, still trying to figure out where the tachometer will go. I'm planning on this being a 4 month project to get it where I want.

And for those curious... 1979 Malibu Classic, 2 Door, White with an '83 front clip. 350ci, Edelbrock carb/intake, built TH350 with shift kit/stall, 4.11 gears, hooker headers, dual exhaust.

Any other questions or comments just let me know. Still working on getting pictures so bear with me lol.

Still tinkering around when I can, an unheated garage and -45 below today make for slow work. Because this car was a frame of about 10 years ago, I won't be digging into it that far. I finished gutting the interior and I'm now trying to make sense of the wiring nightmare that was behind the dash. The plan for the interior now is to get it back to stock configuration for the most part. I will be installing gauges, head unit, and changing the interior from 5 colors to one, black. Still trying to find a few ways to blend the white exterior with black interior, black rims and tint sound like a possibility.

By the way, does anyone have a picture of their rear deck with the interior removed? As mentioned before, mine was cut out so I mocked one up. Is it just speaker mounts and a few reinforcement strips, or a full flat deck?

Got the engine a little more presentable, still waiting on interior parts and some warm weather. Wheels came the other day as well!

Greetings from Wisc; Welcome Mad Max, where in Wisconsin are you from? Are you considering Power Tour (June 13-14)? In the G body of the month area check out John's Blue Knight, consider voting for him. He's from Janesville, his car is aimed at drag racing & it's zippy. Think spring Bob Jr.

I'm in Monroe, about 40 minutes south of Madison. Power tour is a possibility, definitely want it ready for automotion in Mid-May. Also doing a local charity cruise May 31st.
