Minneapolis, Minnesota
My friend also owns a 79 Monte Carlo (non t-tops)

First off, we both don't live in the best of areas in Minneapolis. Each on opposite sides of the city
One morning he woke up, went outside to smoke a cigarette and run up to the corner store.
He also a 93 S-10 and a 68 C-10 Step Side. He looks at the three cars thinking about taking the Monte Carlo decides against it since the heat and A/C is all ripped out and its a cold spring morning.
So he hops in his S-10 (Daily Driver) lets it warm up a bit blasts the heat and he's off.
The store is about three blocks away. Runs in grabs a pack of cigarettes and some mountain dew. So about a total of a 10 minute trip.

Comes home to nothing but his C-10.

A month later the Minneapolis PD get in a car chase, guy ends up slamming it into a curb a half mile away from my house. He bent the rim, car stalled, he jumped out and ran...blah blah blah.

The guy ended up being a drug dealer wanted on a felony arrest warrant.
The police impounded the car, and it was on police hold for 6 months.

The insurance company totaled it out. It was spray painted black, the trunk was all bent out of shape from them breaking into it, the steering column was busted up, windshield was all busted up and a whole lot of cigarette burns in the seats.

Long story short, the car is all back to normal except the trunk. But he was Monte Carlo-less for 7 months

The funny part about it, he's on the stubborn side thinking he was never ever going to see his car again, he never calls the impound lots or the police department but sits there and wines about it all the time.
So his girlfriend getting annoyed of listening to him complain decided to call some impound lots, the first one she called they had it, and had it for about a month.
