Quick question guys, I remember reading somewhere that an early 90s F150 with an 8.8 had a standard style u-joint flange that uses a standard u-joint. Can anyone verify this? And is there any reason or benefit between using that one over the flat 2 piece design?

In the late 80's the 1/2 ton trucks had a standard yoke. No real advantage. I like the companion flange style with 4 bolts as it makes it easier to install plus you can clock the driveshaft at 90 degree intervals if you are chasing a drive line vibration.

Thanks for all the help. I did cut the driveshaft just in front of the u-joint. So I just have to clean everything up and replace the joint. And I should be good.
