I'd love to see you there. I have to admit, we (I) are struggling. I f'd the tune and washed a couple of cylinders. But it's coming together. Should be re-fired by Wednesday.

This one of the times a stout 383 looks better than the 414 plus a little would've been easier.

After Drag Week and H2Oi in Ocean City, MD, it appears that the we have broke the timing chain. Basing this on the that the crank turns and the cam doesn't. The cylinders seem to hold air, so the excessive piston to valve clearance is looking like a good thing at the moment.

FWIW (I wasn't there to witness it, but..rumor has it) the cause of the failure was burnouts for boobies. I believe the rpm's might have bounced off the rev limiter for approx 2 consecutive minutes according to the datalogs.

I guess it was worth it.

This a local facebook group with approx 5000 members that decided the Cutty was worth the cover photo for a month or two. This actually made Mom smile :):) This group is mostly high powered Vettes, Mustangs, rice rockets, etc. It made me feel great to see a G from the '80's make the cover!!!

It's apart and it appears that the burnout rev limiter set to 7K rpm's was too much. Valve floated and a little piston to valve contact caused some mayhem.
