Good to know! I just need to last all summer. I did the first wheel, and ernt to heavy, has a few runs, but live and learn. On sale with a military discount I got it for 5.49 a can, so I wasted a can essentially. I will have to redo that wheel in a few weeks. No time today.

A bunch of light coats, let it dry a bit between coats. Clean the wheels with soap and water first. I did the wheels on my short box Chev and they looked great after the nastiest winter we've had in twenty years. It's pretty tough.

I think they turned out ok, they'll get me through till I have the time and money to get some proper wheels for it. They at in my shop drying overnight, I'll bring them home tomorrow.

My only concern is when I tighten the lugs. If it's gonna tear it up bad.

Take an exacto knife to the base of the lug nuts or the edge of the lug hole in the wheel. It will peel off right up to the cut line. You can respray the area you removed I'd you want, don't even have to mask off the rest of the wheel.

Good tip, I was thinking that. I don't know if I can get in the lug holes though.

Small update, I finally made it to Dennis Kirbans open house. It was a pretty good day, but the days leading up to today we're Fiasco. You guys have been following my thread with my wheel issues, I ended up just keeping the Mustang Bullitt wheels that are on it, and plasti dipping them matte black. The car looks good, but it's not exactly what I want.

But, that's not really the fiasco. After getting the a Alky system to work, I decided to take the car for a test drive to make sure the rear and the transmission were good. Needless to say, that the trans would not shift from first to second or from third to fourth without letting off the throttle. So knowing that I was having servo or band issues, I decided to look there first. After pulling the CK servo outand inspecting, I could not get another one back in. Stock, modified, didn't matter, so now the car was stuck in front of my driveway and garage.

My brother came over, and we were just going to wash and polish the car. But since I couldn't drive it because the transmission was junk, I decided to swap the transmission. I had a CZ Oldsmobile 200 4r that was heavily modified. I decided to take that transmission and swap it into the Buick.

We started about 7:30pm, and I proceeded to jack the car up and get it on jack stands, and tear the transmission out. Trying to be careful not to scratch the paint, I got the transmission out. I flipped it upside down, flipped the CZ code transmission upside down, and swapped the valve bodies, though I forgot to swap the governor.

I put the metric 200C Servo back in it, cuz that thing worked awesome. By the time I got the transmission back in, it was 1:30 a.m. this morning.

Woke up at 7am and then took it on a test drive, and a transmission shifted fine, ran fine, it was good to go. But the fact that I forgot to change the governor, the trans shifts kind of quick in drive. I also realized I put the wrong torque converter in it, I thought I had a 2800 stall that I put in it, but apparently I put a 2000 stall converter in it.

I should have just put the stock D5 convertor in. My alky also stopped working. Grrrrr.

Upside, the car had nothing but really positive feedback. Everyone loved the modifications, the undercarriage, the paint, the engine. I still have the interior to do, and some bugs to work out. But all in all it was a good day.
