Looking into getting a kit from CK, and rebuiding the brf trans this summer. For now, I'll swap out the governor to the Buick governor, and put the D5 convertor in.

For as busy as I will be this summer with the new house, this will get me by.

Update, after getting back from MacDill AFB, I had to check a few things. My ALKY system wasn't working. So I went out and rechecked all the power, ground and signal wires. It appears I had a regressed pin in the PWM ALKY relay plug. So, it is working now. Good news there. I can see the Alky % on the datalog, and the wbo2 get richer.

Now, I am running 20lbs, I will start to creap up on boost and timing.

Also, I have both fuel pumps installed, but it sucks there is not light on the WUD, or column in the datalog when it is running. I never thought to add an LED to the pillar for the second pump.

I bought the parts to rebuild the transmission, so that will be soon. I also have to rebuild the steering box, it is leaking pretty bad, and the royal purple steering fluid isn't cheap.

I won't get any interior done this year, my house foundation SHOULD be getting poured Monday, and a week or two after that, framing. My cousins, brother, Dad, wife, kids and I are doing all the mechanicals, shingles, siding, trim, paint, and hard flooring. So it will be a busy summer. All hands on deck.

Well,my parts cam in. I bought everything from CK Performance. Kit, extra 3-4 clutch and steel. I'll machine down the overdrive clutch piston to fit the extra clutch. I bought a Hardened stator support, sun gear shell, and billit forward drum. I already have the CK shift kit, billet servo, (though I am using a 200c now), fabricated deep pan and 4l60 filter. I purchased the upgraded pressure regulator valve, and 10 vane pump upgrade. I also got his book.

I'll start the build maybe next week.

Finally, bought a steering box rebuild kit. I aim to do that Friday after work.

Well, pulled out the steering box. In the process of rebuilding it today. Also pulled out the intercooler to pressure test it and give the tanks a count of underhood black. The turbo oil drain was leaking pretty good too so I fixed (I hope) that.

Update, steering box is rebuilt and I, works great and no leaks. I have to double check the turbo oil drain, it looks like it may be leaking at the bolts somehow. I bought some ultra copper rtv, so I'll redo it with that.

If I can get that sorted, I'll reinstall the intercooler.

who did the box?

I did, the box didn't have any slop, it just leaked everywhere. The gears and pistons had no scoring, so it was just new O-rings, Teflon seals, and the bearings supplied the kit.

Jim,
Are the steering box parts readily available?

Jack, I bought the kit online, about 33 bucks. I'd have to dig up the p/n.

If you have a good box, but with a bad leak, it's the way to go. If the steering gear part is worn, may be better to get a lower mileage box.
