On a side note, is anyone running an XSpower battery? Or some other AGM beside Optima?

AGM's are over rated IMHO. I deal with them at work alot.....too much. Over priced trash is all I can add. In a car a standard 600-650 cca battery is more than adequate.

BTW, congrats on the house and occupancy.I'm sure that it was a max effort situation and it looks as if it paid off. Again - congratulations.

What I like about an AGM is that it doesn't make a mess like a traditional lead-acid battery. Dad has an AGM from Advance in the Galaxie and my brother just put an AGM from Advance in mom's car. We replaced an Optima Red Top with an AGM from O'Reilly in his 78 Z28. We didn't get good service out of that Red Top. I haven't gotten the kind of service I expect out of the Red Top's I've had in my daily driver pickup. Oh yeah, we just replaced a Red Top in Sean's pickup with an AGM from Advance. None of these AGM's from Advance and O'Reilly have been in service long enough to comment on length of service. Optima's were better in the 90's.

Thanks guys! It definitely was max effort.

The AGMs can be a pain when allowed to run dead. We use them alot in the military vehicles, but ha e been having bad luck with them.

I like them mainly for the sealed design. I'll be ordering sk.ethi g here in a few days.

Also, I will be starting the transmission rebuild in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

Still nothing new, weather has been crappy. But work in work is slowing down, and I will start rebuilding the transmission. I need to get the car in the shop on lift and fix the leaking drain plug n the rear, and the LF tire is leaking. Soon....

We are in the house, still have a few things to do though. I did manage to get some tools in the attached garage so I can do some minor maintenance.
