A mini 400!
Pretty much, in as much as the bores are siamese. I know oem 4.1 don't have these steam holes, but I have done 400 sbc the same, and the Buick power source says do it soooooo.

Hit Spring Carlisle on Saturday just to walk around with my Dad. I bought some random crap for the garage and shed, but I did manage to find a brand new Summit Racing 3in exhaust cutout with wiring and switch for 50 bucks. I only needed one so it is perfect.

Some pics of the cutout for hahas, and the oil pan I bought online. Plan is to submerge it in evaporust, the lightly blast it before I modify it.

I promise pics soon. I received my main cap girdle from RJC racing. I promptly sent out my cap to get modified and machined, and they are on their way back to me. Sooo, once I receive them I'll mock up the girdle, and cap shims for preload. The crank scraper will have to wait till I get the crank.

I am still raising money for the rotating assembly, but hopefully I should have it in a month or so.

I should be porting my heads but its too damn hot and I'm too busy with side work, hopefully in the fall when the temp is cooler I can port them. I want to do it outside so as not to get the metal crap all over my garage.

Figured I'd add a few pics of the main cap girdle, and the machined main caps. I only sat the girdle on there, I still have to take some measurements, adjust the shims, add the pan studs, yadda yadda. When I get the rotating assembly I'll drop em off with the block to get finish bored and align honed.

Just wanted to touch base, with the current state of the world and supply shortages, it's damn near impossible to get the parts I need for this stroker build. No roller cam cores, no Molner rods available, etc. I am still working on sourcing parts, but I can say the roller cam is currently the hardest. The rods will come, but even getting a good used cam isn't working out. I may have to run a flat tappet if I can't get something by spring.

Bah Humbug!

I was half considering a roller cam swap in my Cutlass 4.1 this winter. That is going to certainly push that one back....

I hear you there! I didn't want to run a flat tappet, since its a pain to pull all the turbo crap of later to swap it out later.

You can do a billet roller from a few vendors, but I have no need to a 1.2k billet roller cam that still needs nose hardware.

Nothing really for the wagon, still can't find a roller cam, and the rods are apparently on backorder. So, in the new year I am starting the first stage of my garagemahal. In the back of the land I am building a 36x48x14 pole building, 2 10x10 doors, man door and a few windows. I hope to have the area cleared before end of January and weather permitting get it up in Feb. I am having a crew do it, I don't have the time of desire, besides, its only a few grand more to have a crew do it than me renting equipment and finding friends to make the drive.

Please do a thread on the shop build. I'd love to follow the progress and maybe learn something along the way. I hope something breaks for you on the cam soon.
