82 Malibu Wagon in New Zealand

Thought i'd start a build thread on this old girl, being over here in New Zealand there's not a lot of info on these so i no i'll have some fun times ahead. Bought as a pretty much rolling body that someone decided to mount a holden 304 v8 into then gave up, i believe chev in a chev so have sold this engine. Through checking i found was ex california & bought into nz in 86, i'm the 4th owner here of her. Be lucky if theres many if any others in the country - shes originally a 2.8 auto wagon but i've bought a 305 for it thats had a bit of work done to it. I'm not after power with this i'm just after a cruizer, i'll be on the hunt for a turbo 350 trans for it this week & just sorting clamshell engine mounts. My big problem & the only issue i'll have is the wiring on the right side under the dash & under the bonnet, i'll add some photos of that soon. Rest is going to be pretty easy - anyways heres some pics when i bought her home.....

Now this is going to be my headache the wiring, i've bought a manual online that i hope has a wiring diagram for this. That book will be a good 20 days away i'd say. Anyways heres some pictures off the hack job - i dont no what this lot is for yet.....

She looks solid and the wiring looks like Ray Charles was fixing it lol

I don't think the wiring is a big deal judging from the pics. Cig lighter and some computer stuff. See what doesn't work and go from there

If you're talking about that harness in the lower corner of the firewall that feeds out on to the right side inner fender it's the computer harness. Just pull it & plug the hole. save the wires for salvage in case you need some wire for something.

Cheers will keep this updated for sure & yes was lucky shes solid as in the body. And that wiring yeah some people shouldnt be allowed near a car....

Yeah theres 2 looms that go through the firewall on the right hand side, so i take it with a computer some of these were injected? Sounds good it's not an issue Cheers
