83 Cutlass Exhaust Headers Fit

I have been searching everywhere and I cant find the answers that I need. I have a 1983 g body 2 door cutlass. I want to put a 555 bbc standard block with dart heads with.300 raised exhaust ports. I dont want to spend $1500 on a set of lemons headers. I have heard I can make the hooker 2241 headers work with the raised exhaust ports and that all I have to do is trim the lower control arm mounts. Is this true thats all you need to do to make them fit?
