i have a 83 cutlass that had the 3.8 swapped that out for a 68 350 rocket. Everything is perfect except getting the ac working. Everything works but I cannot get the new compressor and the line set from the existing 3.8 to seal and clear the hood. Thereby of course it won't vacuum down.

Would it fix my issue if I bought a 1983 307 line set?

Also I can't remember off hand but would it matter if I accidentally ordered a replacement compressor for the 3.8l

Thanks for your help.

Also more information the place it isn't sealing where the line set bolts to the compressor. I guess the seals are called compressor port seals. We have a red and a green color seal. They seem to be the wrong size.

What is the part number on the compressor or box?

So now that you have the part number is it for a 3.8 a 350 or 307?
