Definitely a nice clean project to start with, at the rate you are going you will probably finish your 84' before I finish 86' Regal.

We are trying our best to get it road worthy. Definitely not a master restoration but for our first attempt at it i think its fun and a learning experience for my son and I

Some more progress pics from the weekend this motor ran well so basically we are just prettying it up a bit for now. In the fiture i may upgrade to a 350 and do a total rebuild outside the car once i learn more

Please take a look and see if you see any glaring issues. I am new to this and this engine was already in the car and definitely rigged up so some of the small things like sensors, vacuum lines, etc im still not sure if everything is there. I plan on adding a three cluster gauge panel (water temp is already in the car) and im not positive where the oil pressure sensor goes on this engine. I read in front but my father thinks its under the distributor. Any help or critique is appreciated

Anytime someone removes hydros off a g body it's a good sign. Why does no one ruin cavaliers?

I think the port is near the oil fill tube on olds engines, if I remember right.

They were bad enough from the factory you can't hardly make them any worse, any mods are an improvement.
I mean, I wouldn't mind one (an 88 Z24 specifically) for a daily, but it'd have to be mint, and finding a cavalier in mint condition is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

Welcome Daca 214 & son; It's SOoo good to hear you & your son are doing this together. You will have instilled respect for the car in your son. He has something invested into it. With the work he has put in he will have Pride. And something not all his buddies have, exclusivity (my personal favorite). Enjoy, Ole' Bob.
