Sounds like its just not shifting out of 2nd.
You can jack it up and put it in neutral. Chalk mark the tire and driveline. Rotate both tires while counting driveline revolutions. Look for something like 2.29, 2.56, or 2.73 driveline rotations for 1 tire revolution.
Or better yet, service the rearend and read the numbers on the ring gear. It's probably way past due anyway.
thanks man. Wish I would have known that months ago when I changed the diff fluid. lol

I will try the chalk thing.

timing and overall tune can play a fairly substantial part in engine temp. 20psi at idle hot isnt bad, it may have been that low because of the high temps. if its less than 20 at idle after a 15 minute highway drive, that can be of some concern.

Plus, your gauge is fed from the front of the block where pressure would read the lowest anyway because of the rear mounted pump. 20psi hot at idle after a highway blast would be more than enough. as long as you have at minimum 10psi per 1000 rpm and it raises near instantly with throttle, you'll be fine. keep an eye on it though.

So exciting news. I dropped the regal off at performance center of jupiter. Its a hot rod place (apparently these guys were contestants in the SEMA build off 2 years ago for what thats worth). I had faith they know what they are doing and man im not disappointed. Car runs so freaking good now. They fine tuned and timed it and fixed that shifting issue. It drives like a dream. Had it up to 70 and it was like i was driving a modern car. They also found a vacuum leak and fixed that and changed my air cleaner cover. They said the old air cleaner was starving the 4 bl of air

Super happy

Now the bad news. My “new” headliner is already bubbling and one of my “new” headlights from gbody parts is shot Calling both places tomorrow

So i contacted gbodyparts about my headlight. They are sending a new one asap. Very cool company. No questions asked. I sent them pics and boom they took care of it

We took ole girl for a 25 mile ride today. She drove like a champ. Never topped 200 degrees
Knocked off a bunch of small to do’s
Next i tackle the loose tilt column and the body mounts

My rear body mount bushings are shot

So, i did receive the new free headliner from Acmeauto (bought it from RockAuto) and I also received the new replacement headlight from Gbodyparts.com

the overall design of the headlight is cheap, so I dont expect any of them will last very long. the issue is they use a rubber boot to keep moisture out of the bulb area, but you can tell the boot wasnt designed for the light. it has threads on it, and the light doesnt.

I used some 3m double sided tape to keep the boot pressed up against the housing in hopes this keeps the moisture out.
