Been few months since been on here ,but acquired a new car hopefully done for next summer .So my 82 buick sumerset is at the point of being less fun to do longer trips and such and I keep removing things from the car that make it less and less a street car, recently hurt the quarter panel after a wheelie one night racing a buddy and that was kinda turning point other then getting the boot from the track cause it doesn't have a cage. Also unsure if I will stay nitrous or go single turbo on my 496.

The car is back halfed 456s 35 spline axles, 4 linked, needs alot but built very solid very easy to work on also cage needs some reworking and bars added be probably 80% street time on it my regal is just to heavy and don't want to chop it up this one's already chopped up really like to shoot for 8.50 range currently in the 9.50s and hard to keep up at times with the cars competing now.

Looks like a good starting point. I would try to have the car certified as soon as you can to make sure the cage is able to be certifiable.

well problem with the cage is it sits to low in the car least the main hoop isn't to low so I'm probably going to cut the hallow hoop and Pilar Bars out to put them were I'd like ,car was last certified in 2003 ,plans also include putting the engine bay bars in and cut as much stuff out as possible goal is to be down around 3000 ready to race ,my buick is 4030 ready to race

Don’t bother putting engine bars in unless you x the door bars. There is no strength from engine bars if the a pillar bars are not tied to the main hoop.

That's part of the plan along with few other bars ,the plastic buggy seat is being gotten rid of also along with the dash. Car will be on small tires most of the time it can eat 33/15.5 tho tubs are pretty big

You don’t need the engine bars to be 8.50 legal, so why do it? I know the answer might be safety, but sounds like you’ve been running 9’s with no cage, so………I’d try to get it legal for what you’re planning to run.

Looks nice though no matter what👍

Yea the buick has been consistent 9.50s not bad but it's getting to the point were it gets out of hand quick and all it takes is one bad times ,so it's definitely more about safety with this cutlass along with being lighter and able to ad the weight were I need it. Plan for the buick is to put a 4 speed back in with its old big block and 350 gears instead of 486s for a better cruising car I'd say lol

Did alittle work nothing special cut the bullshit off the firewall looks 100% better not worried about wipers . Have alot of little holes to zap up grind down this is not going to be a show car by no means but I really like the look of the cleaned up fire wall unfortunately there's no were to put tools and bolts now lol. On a side note a friend I race with got screwed badly on a Ford 9" deal won't get into details but the housing was not even save able so I grabbed another housing and cut it down threw the brackets on it waiting on brake parts from him so I can do the brake brackets.
