Hi everyone! Blower motor still working great ! Got another problem.

Would anyone know about the rear defrost system on an '84 Regal Limited? It has a rocker toggle switch. It is a temporary touch type meaning it does not stay in any on or off position. For the 20 years I have owned this Regal it always worked however sometimes I would have to tap it a couple of times for it to come on. There is a light that comes on when it is ON. Now it does not come on at all. Is there a fuse or relay I should check on the fuse block? If so, does anyone have a pic. of the proper fuse block so I can zero in on the right fuse or relay to check? If a relay, how do these relays come out? Just so you know I don't think there is any problem with grid or factory wiring. I NEVER changed anything or cut any wires. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

p.s. It may be the relay, I am seeing a photo of one and it appears it is NOT on the fuse block. Under the hood maybe? Because it seems there is a plug in harness to it???

If you were tapping the switch to get it to work in the past I would say the switch is busted.

But let's just say the relay is bad, where is it located? Because I did notice the light on the switch glow briefly when I press it but it does not fully stay on. If the switch is bad, would you have a part #?

Relay is solid state in the switch. At least it is on Cutlass. Here's an 85 Cutlass wiring diagram. I'm betting it's very close if not the same.

If it doesn't have the relay included, you're going to need to find a buick wiring diagram. Because I don't know Buicks. But if the relay is solid state and in the switch, you just need to find a new switch. If it's anything like Olds G-body defog switches, it's a crap shoot.

I wish I had the part # without trying to remove the old one first....

Good news ,it appears the relay is IN the switch itself. It has a 5 plug harness that goes to it.

25515822 is the best number I've found for the switch. And it has a big long box in back of it making be think it has the solid state timer in it. Discontinued 6 years ago. Made by Nartron. Oldsmobile used TRW switches. Go figure.

That's sorta good news, but the point now is FINDING one that works.
