I have a 1985 442 and i spun a bearing in the engine about 4 mounths ago and its been sitting ever since. I love my car but i would really like to get something i can kind of make my own and i just cant justify doing that to a 442. I was wondering what i could get for my car in its current condition the paint isnt the best and there's rust on the bottom of the rear quarter panels, thh original rims are on it and they arent bad but there not really good either and the tires are a year old. The interior is in very good condition, when i got the car i replaced all the speakers ran new wires and replaced the head unit, the only thing wrong is there is a small tear in the driver seat. the car only has 81000 miles and i was tying to figure out if I should sell it as is or rebuild it first.

pics would help, they are rare cars but there isn't a huge market for them, if your going to sell it i would sell it as is you will never get back what you put into it.
i was in the same boat as you, i have a very clean 87 442 with under 50,000 miles on it. it was puffing some smoke out the tail pipe and it had blow by and one bad cylinder, one borderline cylinder. i figured, hey bad rings, not to many miles, but it sat forever so maybe they are sticking or something like that. pulled the engine took it apart to find that one ring came apart on the bad cylinder and took a chunk out of the cylinder wall that was just too deep and it destroyed my piston. so now im stuck with a very clean 87 442 with a trashed engine.

I have a friend that is looking for a 442, if you decide to sell let me know he may jump on it. Like the previous post, put up some pics would be very helpful.

Agree: rare does not always mean huge market. For example buick made a 'T' package in 1987 that was NOT a turbo, but was a 307 V8 with a floor shifter and bucket seats. Rare? VERY!! But also hard to sell for what it should be worth because not a lot of people want that.

Post some pics of your car and GLWS if you decide to!

Pics and a price are a good starting point...........only saying 8)

I took pics of everything I thought was important but if theres anything more specific I should put on just let me know, and galeaiii I would like to sell this car so if your friend is interested please let me know.
