86 Buick regal engine swap ideas

Hi, so I recently purchased an 86 Buick regal with a 307 olds v8 engine in it with custom side exhaust pipes. I'm definitely gonna stick with it as long as I can until I accumulate enough money to do an engine swap but I cant figure out what engine and trans to go with that'll be good with a low budget, I'm hoping to get one that pushes over 300hp.

I am going to say yes to the direct swap of an Olds 350 in there but no to keeping the side pipes.
