So each of the fan motors have 3 wires, a yellow, dark green and black?

Yes. There is one bundle of black, green and yellow wires in the harness where it plugs into the chassis harness on the intrepid, and then the harness splits near the fan motors and a yellow and green wire both run to each motor.

That way both fans are on on low and both switch to high at the same time.

I was thinking of running one fan with the 'low' fan on signal from the PCM and the other fan with the 'high' fan signal from the PCM, but it would have required me to rewire the harness that is built onto the fan, and doesn't get as desirable of a result.

I’m headed to the junkyard to scope some out. Did you get yours new aftermarket or are they original Intrepid units?

I did the Intrepid fans and the MarkVIII fan and I must say the MarkVIII is the way to go. You will need a 50A capable circuit for it.

Isn’t that fan thicker by a bunch? I have a lot of junk to jam in there lol.

Yes I believe it is quite a bit thicker...

I'm using LT1 Camaro fans and they seem to work good. New they are only $130 IIRC

These are factory fans, the aftermarket don't have the holes/slots above and or below each fan.

Yes to pics ;)

I think ‘81 Cutlass can handle the extra thickness, but I can’t.

It would be great to see some pics of several setups.

From experience the LT1 fans (which I have on my 97 l67 firebird) are thicker than the intrepid fans.

Original intrepid from the salvage yard for like $25.

There are two kinds, normal and HD cooling. The HD cooling has a relay pack built into the fans. I had that set on my Turbo Wagon and had the stick LC2 buick wiring harness to control them.
