Got impatient this AM and demasked it this AM. Had some bleedthrough on a few spots, one small missing place that the masking didnt stick, and the silver wasn't totally dry so it messed the silver up a bit from the tap adhesive but overall it looks good!

Polishing a turd!

And done! Mounted the tires, they balanced out well and put them on the car. Drove it up to 3 figures and no shakes. Needs the .5" shorter wheel spacers up front.

Scuffed the paint a bit on the first wheel when I tightened the lock on the balancer but hard to notice. I'll throw the center caps that came on my 2+2 wheels on and it should look period correct. I am leaving the beauty rings off though!

Looks good! Took a lot of work but im happy with the OE look.

Bolted on my poor mans drag race rear sway bar. As a reminder its a 97-02ish 2dr 4wd blazer rear bar i essentially flipped backwards and upside down. Dug out some endlink bushings and bought some bolts, drilled a couple holes and it's mounted!

Oh and I am kinda thrashing. I am doing a drag weekend Friday-Sunday this weekend in Wisc, Ill, IA and decided I got sick of loading and unloading my tools so I modified my cargo caddy to hold my top box and tires during the trips.

Fun fact generic trailer lights bolt right on. Also, built some legs that fold down with some clamps to hold them up in transport. Be a quick fold the legs down, remove the hitch lock pin, and slide it out! Box locks and I have it bolted down so it won't fly away :)

It sags in the back a bit like a dog taking a crap but it's all loaded and ready to take the 3hr drive up to the place for the night tomorrow and the 1 1/2 drive to the track Friday morning!
1537415937109.png

Also walked away from what looked like a lightly modded '14ish wrx driving home from shopping this evening. He claimed he had like 350hp and I walked away without an issue from like a 30 roll in 3rd gear. It's funny, I have been into cars for like 10 years and no kidding thats the first time anyone has EVER tried to actually impromptu race. Granted I put less than zero effort into showing interest or initiate anything. I guess thats what you get growing up in a rural MN town where you know what everyones car is. It's the second or 3rd time he has kinda tried to get me to run and I've kinda ignored him since there was cars around, I had 87 in the tank or various other stuff.

So yeah, hopefully the 3 day drag weekend thing goes well and everything stays together. It was SUPER hot last year and I didn't run worth a crap due to my stock worn suspension, no intercooler, and shredded my blower belt.

I've got sorted suspension, boost is cool, and a lot more experience so I feel good. Hopefully I make it solid 11.50's and see how it runs after that. It's on 10psi and 10 degrees of timing or so with e85 and I should be able to put easy 5 if not 8 degrees more in it.

Overall looking forward to it!

Don't end it early by going quicker than 11.49.

I am actually in the 11.50 class so I have incentive to run 11.50 or slower. Car ran 12.50ish last month on 91, 3psi less boost, and bad 60ft (like 2.0). If i sorted the 60ft to 1.75 it should have been 11.90's and I think i have .4 or better of timing and boost I have or can add. Basically if I run an 11.50 I can turn the time slip, add a few degrees of timing and run another pass and if I get kicked out it's on to the next track.

It MIGHT have a 10.99 which is the ultimate goal locked in it but I doubt it.

Those slicks look massive for your car! Good luck!

They are 295/50/16. I want 275/60/15 but at the time I had the wheels for these and was in a rush to get tires. Long term goal is to build a set of 15x9's for the rear like I did on my fronts but thats a this winter project! Surprisingly they fit perfectly in the car.
