86 Grand Prix factory fuel gauge

Is there a way if anybody knows I can straight wire my sending unit to my fuel gauge? Or do I need to buy an aftermarket gauge. I pulled out all of the ribbon and got three screw holes for wiring. If somebody has ever done this please give your info. Also if anybody knows of parts that are clean please please let me know thank you.
