Went back out after dinner to work on the 80E. I'm sitting there wondering how to deadlift this thing, then DUH it hit me. Work smarter, not harder, so I used the loaner hoist and the fancy HF leveler I picked up this morning to get it done.

Should be all drained of ATF when I go back out which looks really good btw. If so I'll flip it and pull the pan.

With some much needed momentum, I tore into the trans. Overall, for a 100k mile unit it looks really good inside! It has a little sludge, but ZERO metal flakes, pieces, etc in the fluid. Somebody mangled the pass thru connector so I've gotta get that ordered and might as well get new solenoids since I'm this deep into it.
Anywho, I got it down to this point. I'll chip away at the mods as time allows!

How deep are you going into the transmission? Gonna peek inside or shift kit an send it?
Literally peeking inside via the access holes from the bottom. So far the gears and/clutches look really good. That being said I'm gonna shift kit it and send it. Gotta go to the local WIT (transmission supply chain) and get the harness/solenoids since they have it in stock and price is super reasonable. I want to close up the trans ASAP so it can get another bath and maybe a coat of paint.
