Got the shift kit done and everything assembled back into the trans. Had to break for family stuff for a few, but gonna go back out and get the filter and pan bolted on so I can flip it back over.

Next chore will be lopping off the ears, adding more goodies, and maybe one more round of cleaning and a quick paint job to freshen it up.

As luck would have it, something had to give me a hard time. The B&M shift cable bracket isn't really meant for the thick cast TCI pan, sooooo out came the files to get the needed clearance to bolt the bracket on. Also mocked up the cooler fittings....not sure if I'll stick with the banjo style ot not. They are pretty close to case, gotta put a hose end on and see.

Yeah, that bracket gave me fits too. I may have spacers under it too. Also had some issues with the bolts and washers provided - some were changed out.

Nothing ever bolts on.

Hmmmm, my bracket didn't have bolts, and the instructions said to omit the spacers if used with cast aluminum pans. Correct...nothing ever bolts on is a HUGE truth there!!

Been a slow progress week with work being so busy...alot of companies are purging/destroying documents this time of year. However, I decided to go pickup my dad's trans jack but realized I needed to paint the 80e first.
Sooooo, I made a midnight trip to walmart for paint, plastic, ATF, and a large coffee from the golden arch to give me a much needed boost!!! It's now 0215hrs and the trans is freshened up. It's gonna be nasty here the next couple days, so I might try to get this hoss under the car. Until then, some shameless paint pics.....
