I NEVER EVER understood the factory design?? WTF good does it do to tie the lower control arms together? New style effectively clamps the axles up to the frame and thus to the body too (or vice versa). This helps stability in the vertical axis. Rear end braces like on Ford 9s and even my albeit somewhat wimpy LPW rod design focuses on the fore-aft axis flex.

Yesterday I got the sway bar and hardware setup to get painted black and hammer tone. The clamps and plates and stuff was easy, but I was met with resistance on the sway bar.
The instructions said to spray one heavy coat which goes against everything I've conditioned myself for in the painting world. I tried spraying it heavy, but kept pulling back. I ended up giving it a go, and it worked but the color was too bright as I mentioned.
So, I took the gloss black and misted the sway bar to darken it up. It was hard to tell last night, but I missed some spots so I just finished it up. It's drying now, but I'm happy with how it looks as it matches the BMR stuff better. Gonna try to install it later, but gotta move the brake lines to clear the u bolts. First pic is before the black was sprayed.

Looks good, Scott.
The black mist definitely helps tone it down.
I know what you mean about having to apply a heavy coat. That what gives it the hammertone finish....sort of like a fish eye effect, but in abundance. .
I have noticed that it's not like painting with conventional paint, which has to be applied with lighter coats. You have to lay this stuff on.

Looks good Scott! I think you'll like how the hammer tone holds up. It's durable stuff, great for underneath a car.

Some years back I actually painted the floors in my car with hammertone paint. The stuff is durable, no doubt about it. The color black is not black by any means, more like a charcoal grey.
I gotta get my butt to the boneyard and grab one of those bars while I still can. ;)

Alright guys, so I ended up finding an auction for the W&E brand clips and pulled the trigger since they were only $16.69/box of 15!!!! They finally arrived today along with a pair of 6aH knockoff dewalt batteries.

I also got the end link brackets ground smooth, and hit with self etch. Decided to paint them and I screwed up!!! It's sorta rainy here, sooo real humid. The paint looked perfect, I went in to do family stuff, came back out to see the black went flat due to the humidity. Oh well, the weather is gonna be crappy here the next couple days so not sure when I can repaint them.
