Hey peeps long time since I've posted been a couple years actually , ended up blowing the stock 305 so just went ahead did a fresh ground up build to a 355 SBC , aswell as exhaust true duals complete , can you guys recommend me a rear posi gear ? I'd still like to lay rubber but also be able to take it on cruises and hit the highway would 3.73 gear be suitable ? Seems like a few or more people have this gear all comments appreciated :)

I ran a 3.73 with a 2800 stall/TH350 for years but I used mine at about 30% highway/70% street. If you are more highway I'd say 3.55 would work better.

Obviously a Canadian car if it had a sbc 305 stock. I give your 200C trans about a day before it dies. I killed a TH250C the first run with a 403, high mileage but good shape, well first gear anyways. I say 3.23 or 3.42 if you stay 3 spd or 3.73 if you go overdrive.

Yup not trying to blow apart the transmission lol just trying to take it easy and piece it together slowly with a better trans and gear slowly but surely ,

If you actually want to drive on the highway with it, don't go any higher than 3.42, even with overdrive. I know others have, and you can too, but it gets really old turning 3k rpm or more at 75mph. Plus you can watch your gas gauge drop like a rock.

Ye I was thinking either the 3,42 or 3,73 but I don't want high rpms on the highway either , I still want it somewhat economical and a cruiser ,

Does anyone know what gear is in the grand national rear end ? A buddy of mine told me just to find a complete grand national stock rear end and swap it with mine bolt and play apparently?

I have a GN rear in mine. Only thing you have to do is shorten the driveshaft 1"

All GN's had 3.42 gears from the factory.
