Just finished "watching" all the sales ads. I almost forgot why I don't watch much of the Carfix shows anymore. More talking than fixing. It's 4 minutes of talking about buying stuff from paying vendor *** and how cool their crap is, and 1 minute of showing them throwing an uncut carpet in the car, then the next shot you see is the completed interior. And then 5 minutes of TV ads. I realize it's only a 1/2 hour show, but damn, I got nothing out of it except marveling at how clean and shiny that GN was. The billet wheels and 275's out back looked pretty sweet though.

I think it’s a re-run. Seen it before. Glad there’s at least more G-Body aftermarket support than there used to be, but most of it for the coupes, obviously.

I think that is a rerun all they do to it is the rear control arms.............?

Gears is the worst for the ads. I love Stacey but its just a 25 minute infomercial.

I almost bought that particular GN. So glad the seller rejected my offer. That's the one they put new carpet in, right?

Yes. But interestingly, it wasn't on film they showed. They STARTED to lay the carpet in so they could start trimming it, but obviously they don't actually show them do much more than use a screwdriver on a car for a few turns. The next scene showing the interior showed it completely done with seats installed. Again, they wanted to toss in as many vendor shoutouts as they could in the 1/2 hour (12 minutes of show, 18 minutes of TV ads- some advertising other shows on Velocity) so they hardly ever show them doing actual, real, work. So to me, they don't do much as far as keeping my interest except maybe some parts p*rn. Not trashing them completely, because they can help some people, but overall it's pretty high-level, non-detailed, advertising schtick.

I look at it a lot like Hot Rod magazine how-to articles. If you have an unlimited checkbook to which to buy all those expensive parts with hardly any detail as to installing them, you too can have a cool car like the one they're working on.

Yeah I hear ya on CARFIX repairs, but my concern was with that being the same car. One thing is nice for the owners of those cars they repair, they get all the work and parts for nothing. I figured they weren't working on another GN. I missed most of the show, actually, but was negotiating with the GN's owner, a well known GN engine builder, who had it for sale. I didn't know at the time none of the gauges worked or the that the AC also didn't work. This was a deal breaker for me at the the price he was asking. And though the car had a very clean, no rust body, it needed paint damage to be repaired, and also I discovered that particular car had over a hundred thousand miles ................. in 1997.
