87 Monte build

Hey guys I've got a 87 Monte ls that I've swapped an ss nose onto and removed the vinyl top. No engine or trans in it at the moment but I just orders everything to build my 350. Also have everything coming to swap in my saginaw 4 speed. Was originally going with an 01 lq4 but I'm going to hold of and run the 350/4 speed combo until I have money to build up a turbo ls and get a t56. Did some rattle can reman to it today to get rid of some surface rust and the annoyingly bad spray job of the previous owner. Stay tuned I plan on having it done for spring to run it to a dyno even in Pennsylvania

Well things were going well. Then I notices a nice big scratch the whole length of one of my cylinders. Just in time for all my rebuild parts to come in :'(. Can feel it pretty well with my finger so the hunt is on for a new block. Got a line on a 400sbc

SBC 350s can be bored upto .080 over, but normally once it's been bored upto .060 it's best to get another block. You could probably hone that out and just get new rings. But if you've got a line of another motor, go for it I suppose.

Ended up picking up a 400sbc tonight with a holly carb and edilBrock intake. I already have a mild cam, jegs Intake, some 202 heads. Roller rockers and lifter. Pretty excited!

Nope it hasn't, and I don't really have it in the budget to get it done so I'm going to put it away until I need another engine and I'll build the 400 now

Got the 400 on the engine stand today hopefully I can start tear down tomorrow
