i know prob dumb question, i found a steering coloum for 25.00 that is for a floor shifter, will it work in a cutlass

I believe they all interchange except the very early 80s and late 70s because the wiper switch wasnt on the column like the newer ones are.
thought it would.yah this guy local is parting out 1987 monte.havent seen it yet. but it is a bucket seat car.
I think it depends on what year Cutlass, though I believe many years are physically interchangeable I think in 84' and up columns they changed the wiring for the wiper switch (and maybe other things).
I changed my 83' column shift for an 88' floor shift and all though everything bolted and plugged in like the original I could not get my wipers to work and I found out they use a different wiper switch and the later years also use a smaller style wiper motor that does not interchange with the older harness plugs.
