What's up every one. I've been gone for a long time but I've been a gbody enthusiast since I bought my first 86 monte ss back in 2002. I ended up selling that one around 2005 and then in 2008 I bought my 87. Fixed it up a bit and did a few modifications then I met my wife that same year, so slowly I started putting the car aside. Soon the car was parked at my mom's house until I got married in 2011. In early 2012 we bought our home, I picked up the car from my mom's house and drove it into the garage, and there it sat for all these years.

Well finally this year I decided it's time to actually do some work to it. But Im going to be doing a frame off resto. These last couple weeks I've been ordering some stuff for it, and started taking it apart. Right now my main focus is reinforcing the frame and getting it powder coated. Enjoy the pics and hopefully you guys can give me your input and some tips.

This was the car back in 09. Here it had 22" wheels, this time around I'm going with 20" wheels and drop it even more.

Here's some progress pics from the last two weeks. Took out engine and transmission, core support, fuel tank and rear end. Just need to take out the bolts on the #6 position but the exhaust tips are in the way.

Seeing it on jacks with parts scattered around the ground gave me flashbacks of my recent suspension project on my Monte, memories I was trying to suppress.

Welcome to the site and look forward to seeing the progress as you go! We got matching Montes.

Lol thanks man, but I've actually been part of this site for a long time. I was just absent all these years.

I'll give you a "Welcome back!!" As I opened this thread, I said to my wife, "Here's a user I've never heard of, but he's been a member since 2008", then I read your first two sentences out loud to her. As for myself, I only found this site the last couple of days in 2019.

Whole rear end is out. The #6 bolt on the passenger side broke right at the head, so hopefully I'll still be able to take the rest of it out.
