Bought a 92 Corvette with LT1 and 6 speed and thinking about swapping it into my 78 Malibu. Anyone done this and any information would be appreciated ...

ZF 6 speed is different than a T-56 but anything can be done with enough time and money...

Turna hit on the fuel system. Engine itself should be a bolt-in. I'm assuming you'll need to make an aftermarket crossmember (Gforce?) with frame extension work. Exhaust is straightforward. Wiring can be as simple or time consuming as your budget allows. You'll also need to make your new VSS work with your old cable speedo. IIRC the Corvette accessory drive works fine but mount everything high on the driver's side so PS lines and AC hoses will likely need to be custom made.

I still love the LT1's. Great engine and these days you can pic them up for half of what comparable LS engines go for. The only thing I wish is that they could use conventional serpentine brackets. I never liked how the accessories all ended up on one side or the other.

I put a 93' LT1 Corvette engine in my Z71 truck 18 years ago. Back then you couldn't hack GM's factory ECM so I bought an Accel stand alone DFI harness and computer for it ($$$$$).
The engine mounts are the same as old school SBC. I have no complaints with the LT1 as it's been a great engine in stock form. I plan to sell it though in the next year as I will
be replacing it with a 5.3 turbo set up. I looked at boosting the LT1 but it will not take the abuse without major upgrades.
