Got the covers and hook for the cargo back, really wish I had been able to get the motor mounts done before we put the motor in but is how it goes. I am sure the paint won't last on the motor mounts all that long anyways so the mismatch won't be as apparent

Didn't get a ton done on the Blazer yesterday since Monte is down the GTO had a horrible rear end shake, so put it up and 2 of the bolts came loose on the donut. What's really weird is they were all loctited, so whatever it was we played around a bit there got that all right then balanced the front wheels since it had been shaking like a **** on the highway. On drivers side the wheel weights fell off so now they are both zeroed and should be good for the high speed drives again with the lambos.

Then on to the Blazer, my buddy messed with some of the wiring and trying to get the motor off the firewall more unsuccessfully for the most part. Also spent a good bit of time trying to get the plugs for the pan to plug off both turbo ports to test the motor. Guy I bought the pan off of said it was probably -10AN, originally got some from our hydraulic place and figured that might be part of the problem because 2 different options didn't work. So I ordered both -10AN and -8AN from Ebay so it wouldn't hold us up, then wouldn't you know neither of those work. Turned out to be a pipe thread that we stole from some old scrap pipe that we had at the shop.

I pulled the speakers and grills out of the dashboard to test fit new speakers and to figure how I am going to wrap the dashboard, still need to put some more thought into that. Gonna try that super glue/flour method to see how it holds up on all the cracks in the dash. then moved to the rear and took the drivers side rear interior parts out so I can clean and paint those black as well. Called it a day after that since I had fat boy obligations to meet the fam for dinner

Asking - weren't all of these 4.3 turbo originally? Somewhere in the 350-400hp range? 2wd with 8.5" rear also? Lastly, aren't these ultra rare - I don't believe I've ever seen one in person?

Can you give us a run down on your drivetrain plan?

They were 4.3 turbo but awd, 280hp and 350 tq. They are rare which is why I bought a clone that had pretty much everything done. My plan is 5.3 with a 7875 turbo, at the moment though it is to just get the 5.3 running to see if there is anything else wrong with it. Been looking at 4l80's to take the power I want to put down with the turbo

Didn't get a whole lot done since I cut it short to go enjoy the nice weather and get some food with some buddies, but while my buddy was getting the fuel regulator plumbed up I cleaned up the interior some and got all the parts out of the truck. Pretty much have all the panels ready to be sprayed and the carpet is ready to be deep cleaned to see what kind of shape it is in.

Got some good/bad news about the wheels there have an unknown ETA if I stick with the 12 wide rears which makes sense why they were trying to push me other ways. But if I am OK going 11.5 with the same lip they will be able to have them done in 2 weeks. Now I just need to figure out how to pay for the wheels and then get everything else done in time. So yesterday meant I came down by myself and knocked out a bunch of interior stuff, most of which was scrubbing the carpet. Which I can't believe how much came out of it. Hoping to see once it is dried that it is in much better shape because I must have went through 50 towels of dirt drying it off getting stuff out of it
