A/C compressor kicks on with lever in heat and defrost? 1987 Turbo T

Working fine, The compressor will cycle to draw moisture out of the air to defrost the windows quicker.
All the cars and trucks with air I have owned from GM Ford and Chrysler have worked this way.
Defrost, and Heat & Defrost yes, the A/C comes on.
In Heat only, the A/C should not come on.
In Heat only, the A/C should not come on.
