This large shoulder-ed bolt attached to inner fender to body structure below the hood hinges... what is it for???

And can anyone tell me what thread and pitch these bolts are that connect front fender to core support? I tried chasing them, gently tried many different tap sizes and gone through bins of bolts with no luck. Pretty sure they are 5/16 or a funky metric. Cannot find originals.

Finally (and hopefully) have doors and fenders aligned. I think I could install fenders blind folded and I'm not even kidding

That odd bolt actually goes to the top rear fender/firewall mount location. Kinda looks like a rear hood rest when it's in place.

Those should use M8-1.25x25mm bolts if I remember right (GM 11503619/Auveco 13613), should look like this

Agree with above and add, that shoulder bolt is to catch the hood hinge and keep the hood from going through the windshield if a front end collision occurs.

I'd buy both of you a beer 🍺 if I could. Thanks again for spot on information!

Another question. The passenger/driver window trim is what seems like chrome plated stainless steel. Scuffing it is very hard to do. Scotch brite pads do nothing so I'm using 400 grit sandpaper. Still tedious. Can I sand blast the smaller parts? I am using glass media btw. Would that be sufficient for deglossing?
