I borrowed a neighbor's box trailer a couple months ago to move the last few loads of the in-laws' crap out of their old house (when we used to get rain around here). I felt obliged to lend him my flatbed when he asked to go fetch a parts car with it. I failed to lecture him about going too fast on the hills with no trailer brakes, because he seemed to know what he was doing

Well, he didna. He jack-knifed it, bent his truck, bent all three frame rails going to the hitch, and crushed a fender as the car slid off the deck sideways. How he did not flip the rig or run into the retaining wall is beyond my comprehension. I should really be much more mad about this, but I am so damned busy at work and with 3 kids, I just added it to the sh*t-I-gotta-do list and parked it. I will get mad if a parts wagon reveals itself and I miss it because the idiot was talking on the phone instead of anticipating the downhill. He says he will pay to get it fixed. He's not going to like the bill.

On the other hand, there is a kick-*ss full moon out there right now just creeping over the horizon.

Boooooo! Glad it's at least fixable. And glad no one got hurt.
I had to finally make it policy not to let anyone borrow my tow dolly. I can't even count how many taillights I've replaced over the years along with tweaked fenders. It always seems to come back filthy even when used on in-town trips in nice weather.

That sucks I hope he has good insurance I'd call a mobile welder and hand him the bill if he doesn't

I hope your friend makes good for it and doesn't try to sweep it under the rug, so to speak.
