Need some help I have a 87 cutlass with the 307 I swapped out the carburetor for edelbrock and the distributor so it’s not computer controlled anymore the computer is still plugged in I wanted to know if I refill the Freon will the compressor still work ? It worked before I did the carburetor and distributor swap.

When you say still plugged in...what's NOT plugged in? Just the distributor and carb?

You may can bypass the relay that you no longer need.

There's a good discussion here to maybe help to see what may be your best route:

My 88, the same car had the computer removed when I got it. The cruise and A/C didn't work. My relay connector was melted for the A/C. Basically the light green wire goes to the positive side of the compressor and the black with a grey stripe goes to the negative side which turns it on and off via the low pressure switch at the accumulator where the black with grey stripe wire goes to ground, the other wire is black at the low pressure switch.
