WASUP GUYS AND GALS. I HAVE AN 86 CUTTY SALON WITH THE 307 IN IT AND WANTED TO CHANGE THE CARB BCAUSE ITS GIVING ME A FEW PROBS. ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THE QUAD HAS MODULES ON IT THAT COMMUNICATE WITH THE COMPUTER AND EDELBROCKS AND HOLLEYS DON'T. WHAT DO I DO WITH THE WIRING ON THE CARBS? THANX FOR THE HELP.

Rebuild or have somebody rebuild your stock carburetor. A rebuild kit is about $20.

You have absolutely nothing to gain by putting an aftermarket carb on a stock 307.

Thanx for the info. I know I wont gain hp, but I want to gain driveability. When I mash on the gas the car bogs down and stumbles. I have changed the fuel filter, choke pulloff, egr, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil, etc. and it still does the same thing. Drives great if I don't mash on the gas off a light or something, but I know it didn't do that when the original buyer bought the car.

Sounds like the accelerator pump. It gives a shot of gas when you mash the pedal. With motor off, remove air cleaner and peer into the carb throat with the choke flap open. Work throttle back and forth. You should see 2 solid squirts of gas from the discharge ports. If not, pump needs fixing and the parts come in any rebuild kit.

Cool. Was thinking it might be the AP. That what I have found to be symptons of a bad one on the internet, but Autozone and Advance don't sell it by itself, all they sell is the diaphram. Is that what I need, or do I need the plunger part? Does Summit sell the kit? Is it an easy fix? Does the carb have to come off the car to fix?

Good looking people. I took the horn off the carb 2day and replaced the rubber o-ring and donut spring on the AP, replaced the gasket, and air cleaner gasket, and car runs great. Was scared, I never messed with a carb b4, other than replacing, but it wasn't that bad. Thanx for the info. 😀

Did you adjust the secondary air door? Every carb I have touched, the air door was too loose. Try that first, only need an allen key and a small flat screw driver to adjust.
