Never heard of adjusting that. Where is that located? I replaced the fuel pump and still the same thing is happening. So far it has gotten a new filter, ap, tps, pump, etc., still same symptom...just a little better. I think it might be a distributor going bad. I have replaced everything else.

It is on the secondary air flap on the pass side. You can see the small screw head to adjust it . Underneath that is an allen screw to lock and unlock so the screw on the side can turn. You will see a small spring there too. Go tighter a quarter turn at a time. If you have to go more than a full turn to eliminate the bog, the choke pull off may be bad.

I have almost the exact same issue as you, but have a new rebuilt carb on it and a new rebuilt distributor. I had the issue for sure before the distributor, but not sure about the carb. Anyway, my point is I do not think you'll find a distributor to help.

I say do this simple adjustment first. It could be ignition too. I have found with the non CCC HEI, they just usually fry the pickup and then are junk. Just driving down the road, few hiccups then dead. Most up here weren't CCC until 86. The CCC HEI in my truck has worked flawlessly. Strange the intermittent problems.

Thanx for the info Olds307. Gonna play with it today. I put on a new choke pulloff a few weeks ago, but I didn't adjust the spring that is attached to it when I bought it. I tightened the spring today and it seems like the bog went away. Need to drive it a little bit more to see better, but just driving around the block, it seems better.
