I haven’t had much luck finding a oil pan that works With my 1978 olds cutlass supreme. It has a Chevy small block. Right now I have the stock 5 qt pan. But I’m around 500hp so people are telling me to go to at least a 6qt. I’m just don’t want to run into any clearance issues with the headers or crossmember. Normal oil pump. Thanks for your time.

Need more info. Left or Right dipstick? Dipstick in pan or block?

The standard generic oil pan for the small block chevy is 4 quart + filter. With that said are you looking for a 5 quart+ filter or a 6 quart + filter pan?

I'm running this pan w/my 406.^if i didn't have 6" rods i'd run something different like this one.
the important thing is to make sure you've got the correct pan gasket/pick up for said pan

I have the lower one. And melloelky is correct. Make sure you have the correct gasket. I used a Felpro one piece but I dont know the part number.

Make sure to measure the pickup depth when changing pans. I recommend buying the matching pickup if you buy one of those Milodon pans.
