Looking for the factory part number for the alternator on a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix. 301, manual transmission, power windows, a/c. Thank you ahead of time.

I know this old thread and assume you likely found information by now, but if not did you try rockauto lookup? They usually have OEM part numbers listed for things like that when you look up by year, make/model and engine. For example:
Notice the listing for the ACDELCO OEM Equivalent, the part numbers in parens are usually the GM OEM part number(s) and sometimes in the INFO button page it will show additional alternate part numbers which may help finding what other part numbers there may have been for the part when there are supersession's over the years. Things like alternators, starters, etc are likely to have changed many times.
