Alternator Rewind Shops

Hi everyone, looking to keep everything original to the car and need advice so I can send my alternator to a good rewind shop. It's for the 84 Cutlass Brougham. All original except the water pump (have the original as pump to rebuild too.) Has anyone had good experience with a shop? Thanks in advance!

I get my alternators from this place, they do great work and good prices....it's a bit of a drive for you but you didn't mention anything regarding location...

Thanks pontiacgp! If the border was open I'd make the trip and stop by Industrial Arts brewing in Hamilton ON for a cold one or three as a side trip. I am located in Connecticut. Gotta be a shop that someone knows is reputable in the NYC area.

Rebuild it yourself, alternators are really easy with a couple of tools. Majority of the time its either a voltage regulator or the brushes go bad.

Yep, agreed. I'll take your advice. Once pulled apart I'll see what needs done. Brushes are simple enough.

Found https://store.alternatorparts.com/12si-series-alternators-parts-kits.aspx on line and seem to have USA made kits to rebuild alternators of all types. Mine is a 12 Si three wire, 94 amp unit. Has anyone done business with them that can vouch for their parts? Thanks all and happy Friday!
