Aluminum/lightweight hood pop up springs Information

How did you mount the spring? I have a lighter weight Jeep Wrangler spring on my hood, and have problems with it popping the hood all the way. It's not near as strong as stock, and I even added a spacer to give it more tension to no avail.

My first hood I mounted it in the original position and did the same for my Harwood 4" but later moved it forward after putting in a bigger radiator and it was hitting the edge of it so now it lands in the recessed area I believe in front of the latch assembly.
