Lol nah Im going to be checking my oil weekly now. Programmed my phone to remind me.

Gonna do a oil change on it this Friday or next. And powerwash the motor. Might even install my new doors.

You may want to find out why your engine is burning so much oil.

I check the oil on every vehicle I drive ( even borrowed ones and rentals ) at every fill-up. Wedge the gas cap in the filler nozzle and you got 3-5 mins to kill. Its not a bad habit to get into.

My granddad knew a couple guys were so paranoid as to the point that they not only checked their oil every week, but they changed it. They were mechanic friends of his, who all had VW bugs that they drove daily, and would get together on the weekends and tinker with the cars. From the stories my granddad tells, they used to have a lot of fun. Makes me want to get an old VW.

The Answer, its a 4.3. They all did it. It makes no sense because they used the same pistons and components as a 350.

Bowtie, another tip. Use 10w-30 all the time. Helped me when I had that issue. It slowed the burn down a little.

We all live in Pittsburgh, and they did this back in the day. Google "Pittsburgh Smog". Nobody here cares about the environment, not that anyone did back then, lol.

Yeah, I know. Pittsburgh was a steel town, thus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chances were, if you lived in Pittsburgh prior to 1950, you worked in, for, or with a steel mill. All the steel mills used to smoke the hell out of this place. I remember my grandad telling me that he would come home at noon from gradeschool for lunch, and would have to change his shirt because it would be covered in soot. Streetlights came on between noon and 3, depending on where you lived. A lot of older people still have messed up lungs from it.

Yea rob i'm gonna go buy those Thursday and install them. These dummy lights warn u late really late. How hard are they to install?

I'd keep the dummy lights as well as fit the gauges you might notice a light sooner than movement on a gauge. I believe you can get 20psi oil pressure switches -certainly you can over here - from high performance engine suppliers.

Roger.
