I'm coming to the experts here...........some websites show it is too large for the 8 inch wheel and say 245 is absolutely the widest.....

here is the dimensions of the tire:

Diameter 25.4

Width 10.4

Sidewall 5,2

Circum. 79.9

These will be going on Super Stock Olds 8 inch wheels............with stock backspacing of 4 or 4.5 I believe..........

Those charts are conservative to keep people from really pushing the limits. I have 255's on my 17x8's and wouldn't hesitate a 265 if I knew it would clear the frame.

That's my only concern.......15 inch tires are getting hard to come by in selected sizes....265 is as close as I can get....

People have run 275-60/15 on 8" rims since forever first started selling tires. 295-50/15 also fits but look borderline ridiculous to some people. 265s are fine. Period.

I resemble that remark I have 295/50r15 on 15x8 on the rear of my cutlass with no problem from the rim's just to much for the wheel wells

I said "some people". I'm from West Virginia so 295-50s on 6" rims is perfectly acceptable. On 8" they are saweeeet. Seriously I don't mind but the trend seems to be headed towards 12" wide rims and 205 tires. It ain't right...…..even on a Honda.
