Hello everyone,

Today got my UMI springs for the GP, doing a 2” drop.

First time ever changing shocks and springs on my own. Does this look right? Not sure if i lined up the notch correctly. Spring does say UMI on one side of spring, not sure if that it used when lining up should it be visible?

The old shock had a metal ring on it, am i supposed to use that on the new shock? (circled in yellow)

Nothing is tightening up yet, looking for guidance :)

thank you

The springs look fine as long as both have the lettering facing upright (and if they don't specify an "up" ) and match each other in their orientation,
For rear springs I usually rotate one in their spot to where I feel they are best seated top and bottom and then match the other side to it
As far as the Bilsteins install them with the hardware they came with that is all you need.

Thinking out loud here!

Would the 2" drop be enough that he should consider loosening the control arm bolts to allow it to re- settle? Then tighten back up.

Or is it to little movement and maybe I'm overthinking it!

I believe the ring goes between the shock and axle bracket to keep the tube of the shock off the bracket, as seen in the first pic of the new shock

It appears in the second pic that the shock could slide on the mount bolt, that will lead to problems very quickly. The bushing and sleeve should be tight to the bracket, and not having the tube against the bracket

The Bilsteins should have come with all of the hardware to mount it to the lower mount, you shouldn't need any parts off your old shocks.
Mine came with the lower bolt already as part of the shock so I just had to put it in the hole and put the lock washer and nut on the other side.
