I have a friend that needs springs, ball joints, control arm bushings, steering, just about everything. My go-to places have moved over to truck suspension. Anyone know of a GOOD shop for this on LI?

What about Unico Spring of Rockaway Blvd and 114 Street.

They use to be pretty good.

Driver car. Maybe do everything in polyurethane for longevity sake. It's a 1980 all original so everything needs to be done. Turna I used Unico lots of times. Rocco was a real character and could toss out spring part numbers off the top of his head. He did my 1968 LeSabre. I looked at them and lt appears they evolved into a heavy truck business. Same with Nassau Auto Spring. Trucks. I am looking at Ridgewood Auto Spring on Fresh Pond Road. I guess since the move to strut suspension it's a dying business.

So i called the guy at Ridgewood Auto Spring and he was very accommodating. He actually preferred that I accumulate all the parts and he would install them. He says he used to do 3 or4 front ends a day but not so much anymore. He said if I want poly parts then I should buy what I need and save him the trouble of tracking stuff down. Makes sense, but I still want to bring the car to him for a look-see. Someone put rear springs in and the rear is high. We want the front to match and I think the shop guy would know best which front springs to get. Then I was talking to the new guy in the boat slip next to mine and he said his nephew just started working there. Small world.
