Any other hydraulic throwout bearings other than the junk McLeod 1400-22 for an lt1 t56?

I've got a howe t5 setup on mine and i built a bushing to make up the .18" difference in the OD of the trans sleeve vs the ID of the TOB.

Probably had 5k miles on and it seems fine, but there are reports of them not being that reliable.

If you want the rebuild kit for the Howe let me know, I bought the kit but decided not to bother rebuilding it.

This has been in the car as a functioning trans for about 4.5 years now. I know all about the factory setup for the trans. The issue is that the bop bellhousing does not allow for the use of facotry hydraulics, not to mention I don't want to deal with the pull type clutch. So I put a concentric slave in it when I put it together. The McLeod 1400-22 is designed to retro fit with no work in the tight space (lt1 transes have a shorter input shaft and bellhousing than ls1 and later t56s) to allow the use of a push type clutch.

I gave tilton a call today. They did not have what I needed but put me in touch with modern drive line who makes a kit using their bearing. Its actually cheaper than the McLeod and I ordered it today. Hopefully Ill have it in sometime soon.

Any suggestions on a good scattershield/blowproof for the lt1 length bellhousing while I have it apart?

I should have added you can have the kit for nuttin so you can have it in stock in you ever need it, if you are like me who doesn't like getting stuff for free you can always drop a little gift to any of your local charities collecting gifts for kids

The issue I'm having is finding a bell that connects the shorter lt1 t56 to a bop motor.... There is a chevy to lt1 t56 style blow proof... I'm curious if theres enough meat to get that one, bolt up an adapter plate as a guide and drill it for BOP. Though I'd rather not have to modify a $700 bellhousing

Next problem I didnt think of but your pic shows is the fact that the starter is on the drivers side on an olds, so even drilling the bolt patern wont be enough.

You almost have to wonder if Chevy did a different bell housing bolt pattern on purpose to ignorant, even Cadillac used the the other bolt pattern, kind of surprised GM didn't say use one dam bell housing pattern. Interesting on the LT-1 bell housing, so an LS1 T-56 is much easier to adapt?
