While I had a quick second, I took these images of the Oil Filter Cartridge from my 05' Chevy Cobalt, since I learned that the filter has a built in housing and the filter cartridges are whats needed to replace the oil filter. I've had at least 4 oil changes done by Walmart in my local area over the past couple of years, this was the condition of the Oil filter after I had taken it out. <Pictured Above>. Filter is practically hard as a baseball. Never again am I going to Walmart for an oil change 🤬 .
If I am in dire need of an oil change, like for example the Winter season, I will purchase the oil and filter myself and make sure they're both put in, i'll go else where to have it done. 😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬! On the brighter side, the car is more peppier, not too shabby for a 4 cylinder. I will start seeing better fuel economy now.

Well, if you have ever noticed the 300+ handicap parking spots at Walmart, 99% of those are for the employees. L.O.F...how many actually get a "LUBE" ....grease job from these "quick lube" places, NONE! I NEVER take anything to these places. On Walmart's application to work in one of these shops, the only qualification is "do you know what a car looks like?"

Today I parked in the local Walmart parking lot while the wife went into the neighboring store for some essentials. It gave me 15 minutes to people watch. While it was entertaining to observe the clientele, the moral decline was painfully obvious. So sad the poor life choices people make......

What, they have an application? I thought they just held a mirror up, and if you fogged it, you were hired. Lol

I made the mistake of trying to use walmart for convenience once, but tire related.

Had a tire with a cut in the rubber, and, had a spare tire not on a rim. I went in and asked for a single mount/dismount with balance. Take one tire off, put one tire on. Simple right?

Nope.

The person there, and the "service dept manager" argued that because there were 2 separate tires involved I'd have to pay for two mount dismounts. Pointing out that only one tire would be dismounted from one rim, and only one unmounted tire would be put into one rim didn't matter.

So, I left, drove 20 minutes out of the way, and the local Kaufman tire swapped them for free. Said it was same process as their 'free flat repair' so there was no charge.

Lesson learned: walmart has no business being involved in auto service. Fool me once (go there once), shame on them. Fool me twice (ever go to a walmart service center more than once), you're an idiot. Ignore the shame.

I know several shops that do not change the filters and just top off the oil

Their philosophy is, if he or she cant change it how is they going to know.

Scumbag move but thats why you should do it yourself

You have the wrong kind of car for Walmart servicing.

I've never used Wally World for any automotive maintenance. I have bought car-related stuff from them, mostly fluids like anti-freeze and oil, and junk like that, but never anything that the garage creatures would have to touch.
