A good friend of mine is selling his 1987 Buick Grand National with 5,000miles on it. YES ONLY 5000 MILES!!!
He wants $50,000 USD for it. He bought it new and it's been in a climate controlled garage since new. He says it has the original air in the tires!
Any takers???

I sold my 25,000 mile every option '86 GN for $21K a few years ago and was glad to get it. It also had the original 215/65 Eagle GT's with 7K miles on them.. The Magic of turbo regals was driving and modifying them and embarrassing cars that cost 3X as much.

The world has come a long way since the 1990's and not too many $50K - 150K cars are going to be embarrassed by a stock '87 GN in 2017.

Some people pay full sentimental value for a car, I'm not one of those people.

I won't sell my low 11 second, stock appearing T-type for less than $20K, but having owned a stock, low mileage one also, I much prefer the one I can drive and modify without guilt.

He didn't get to have fun driving the car, spent about 20K on the purchase so it's a pretty poor return to get $30k for an investment of $20k for 30 years.

Not driving a car to keep the mileage low for resale value is like not banging your girlfriend to keep her fresh for the next guy... just saying. I bet it is a super nice car though. Im like UNGN I need a car I can modify without guilt

$50,000.00 to say look what I got doesn't interest me. My 84 Mustang is actually rarer the GN but I have over 100,000 mi's on it. Advertise it on TurboBuick.com for a better following. Not that he won't get his price but it might take a high end auction.

I agree with everyone. Why own a car that you don't drive and enjoy? They might not be as rare as some cars due to the fact by the late 80's early 90's, people started seeing value in collector cars and started hoarding these right away. He's starting high to see what offers he can get. If he doesn't get what he'll keep it.

People spend way more than 30K to restoring their cars and they still would not be in "as new" condition as this car.
True.
