Anyone running a Big Block and have heater only?

Does this cover simply go onto the hvac case mounting or do you remove the car, split your hvac case, install the heater only cover and then reinstall the whole case?

Remove the A/C system inside & the exterior Evap case off the firewall in the engine compartment (outside). Install the 'Heat Only' conversion kit (or just the engine compartment firewall panel) where the original parts were. Where these cases mount, they attach thru factory holes on the firewall.

I'm late to the conversation here, but I have a heat only Malibu with a big block. Valve cover clearance is fine. I'm confident even tall valve covers would fit.

For reference, factory heat-only & the aftermarket 'heat-only kit' are 2 different things. The firewall case is shaped differently (note where centerline of the blower motor/hole is).

The aftermarket kits require cutting up & utilizing portions of a factory A/C evap case if one plans to actually have factory-ish airflow w/the heat/defrost functions.
