I bought some American Racing AR-105's last month but wanted to give them a stock appearance. This is what I did to make it so!
This is the AR center cap as it comes with the wheels.
I filed notches in it and drilled a hole in the center.
This is the factory Buick center cap. I removed the retaining ring from the back.
This is what it looks like with the ring removed. Note the tabs around the outside.
I JB welded a stainless screw to the center of the Buick center cap.
I then put the AR cap onto the bolt and filed the notches so they would tightly fit onto the Buick cap tabs.
Last step, I installed stainless washers and nut.
Finished product!
The factory Buick center caps look like they belong on the wheel, fitting it perfectly. I assume this can be done with almost any aftermarket wheel.
