I have 79 Malibu and 79 el Camino that need wind shields a guy is sellin a windshield are all g body's the same ? Interchangable

4-dr sedans and wagons are one type. 2-dr coupes and El Caminos are another type.

What Jack said. And, FWIW, I bought a brand new windshield for my wagon for 60.00. With the antenna in it. i will never re-use an old one again after looking through that new glass in my old car. 😀

Man, I wish I can score a new windshield for $60.00. What brand is it, Jim? My last one was a PPG, tinted, shaded with antenna. I also need a new one for mine.

Where can I find the plug end that goes under the windshield for the antenna? Mine got hacked when I removed the windshield.

My neighbor works for an auto glass service and they get their glass from PGW. http://www.pgwglass.com . I think you have to have an account, but any glass service should be able to order you glass. Maybe even a mechanic friend or a tint shop can order it. Last windshield I had installed cost me $110 total and that was new glass in my 87 Cutlass.....in 1997. You won't realize how much a difference it makes until you're looking through fresh glass!

I have a friend who is a third owner of a mobile auto glass business. So, I got mine for cost. So it is cheating a bit. Off hand I cannot remember the brand. But is is tinted, the perimiter is black, and it was glued in for me for free. 😀.

Jack, I may even have one of those antenna jacks that go on the cowl. I would have to look around. May try to get out there this weekend.

Jim,
The last time I bought my windshield, it was close to $300.00 installed. I guess you have to be careful with quality, or lack of it.
I'll either have a mobile guy come by the house, or bring it to the local glass shop.

Thanks Jim, if you can find one of those plugs, that would be great, if not I'll have to get off my kiester and head to the boneyard.

Thanks man, I appreciate the information. I guess the PGW glass is made here in the states? I've heard to be cautious of off shore glass products from China.

i dont need new glass, but all of the rubber trim/moulding around the windshield is falling apart
where the heck do i find new replacements for that?

The plastic crap that clips to the backside of the trim? I never found it new. I found some good used stuff at the junk yard. I think it may have been Jack (longroof), who had mentioned using something from a caprice of something. You can find those cars a bit newer.
